Colour blindness simulator

Here's an interesting page with information on colour blindness. It has a tool that allows you to pick colours from a palette and simulate how those colours appear to a person with a particular type of colour blindness. This may help in certain design situations, but I think it's an interesting tool nonetheless. think

ZoÎ

From the ZoÎ site:
"The goal here is to do for email (starting with your personal mailbox) what Google did for the web... The Google principle: It doesn't matter where information is because I can get to it with a keystroke. So what is ZoÎ? Think about it as a sort of librarian, tirelessly, continuously, processing, slicing, indexing, organizing, your messages. The end result is this intertwingled web of information. Messages put in context. Your very own knowledge base accessible at your fingertip. No more "attending to" your messages. The messages organization is done automatically for you so as to not have the need to "manage" your email. Because once information is available at a keystroke, it doesn't matter in which folder you happened to file it two years ago. There is no folder. The information is always there. Accessible when you need it. In context."
Sound cool? Check it out...

I just discovered that there's a package called "griff" available for Pocket PC, which is a music sequencer / creative tool for Pocket PC. Wow. I love this kind of software on the PC - Using tools like audiomulch and Buzz to create cool noises!

Googlisms...

Now this is very good! Type your name and see what google "thinks" of you, what is where is or when is...

Apparently dominic is...
..a christmas cracker
..an expert in online investor relations
..a rake and a womanizer
..destined for greatness
..the zany guy inside the funtastic feathered friend who has been wowing crowds every where he appears

Amongst all this silliness is a quote from one of my websites:
dominic is a man who turned up in the physics department at southamtpon university after a very long party
How cool is that? It even has a typo!

Exciting new display technology

Forget TFTs, LCDs, FOLEDs and all of their ilk... This Iridescent display looks utterly stunning. The concept is certainly innovative: cells which reflect light using interference to produce colour. The cell has 2 states but only requires power to change state - which conserves energy. The creators claim that the display is much brighter than other displays in natural light, eliminating the need for power-hungry supplemental lighting. Now to get a PDA / laptop with a decent display and battery life!
